Harrisville Train Depot

Roof Replacement - August 2024

Restoring a Piece of History: Dave Murphy Builders Replaces Roof on Harrisville Train Depot

Dave Murphy Builders LLC is proud to be part of preserving one of Northeast Michigan’s most beloved historic landmarks — the Harrisville Train Depot. Built in 1901, the depot once served as a vital transportation hub along the Detroit & Mackinac Railway, welcoming passengers and freight to the heart of Alcona County. Today, it stands as a symbol of Harrisville’s heritage and early 20th-century architecture.

We were honored to be chosen to complete a full roof replacement on the structure, ensuring it remains protected from the elements while maintaining its classic charm. Preserving historic buildings requires special care and craftsmanship, and our crew took great pride in using materials and methods that respect the depot’s original character.

As a locally owned and operated company, Dave Murphy Builders LLC has been serving Northeast Michigan communities since 2002. With over two decades of experience in roofing, siding, windows, and restoration work, we understand the importance of combining modern durability with historical accuracy. This project is not just another job for us — it’s a chance to help protect and preserve a meaningful part of our region’s story.

We’re grateful to play a role in keeping the Harrisville Train Depot standing strong for future generations to appreciate.
